Music Producers Guild gives its backing to the Musicians’ Union Work Not Play campaign

The Music Producers Guild has expressed its support for the Musicians’ Union Work Not Play initiative and condemns the activities of organisations, including the London Organising Committee for the Olympic Games, in attempting to persuade musicians to work for no payment.

Musicians train and develop their skills as a career choice and must be remunerated for the work that they undertake. Promise of “exposure” to a wider public is not a justification for exploiting musicians’ services.
