Luciana Berger, Labour & Co-operative MP for Liverpool Wavertree, pledged her support for the Work Not Play campaign in a blog earlier this week.
She said, “John Smith, General Secretary of the Musicians’ Union, tells me that there is a worrying trend of professional musicians not being paid to do their job.”
“Music fans need to join this campaign to ensure that music continues to be a viable profession and that it is not just a career option reserved for the wealthy.”
“As a member of the all-party parliamentary group for music, I will do all I can to support the campaign.”
The MU is delighted to have Luciana’s support for fair pay for musicians.
